Part of the ongoing redevelopment of Westgate Oxford includes the complete transformation of Oxfordshire County Library; one of the busiest public libraries in the country. 

The Role  

We have 2 exciting roles for Assistant Managers. As the first point of contact with the diverse community of Oxford - from children, families, students and older people; you’ll play a key role in ensuring customers have a positive experience when accessing our services. From greeting visitors, supporting them to navigate council services via self-service, resolving customers enquiries, helping them find the resources they need, providing guidance to access our online facilities and taking part in activities that encourage reading for pleasure no two days will be the same.

 Our Requirements  

With previous experience in a customer facing role, you’ll thrive in a busy environment. With a real passion for delivering excellent service, you’ll listen and communicate clearly with sensitivity and understanding. Responding independently to a range of customer requests in an organised and methodical way.

We currently have two roles available: 

Assistant Manager

15 hours per week - actual salary £8,376 

Timetable:     Weekly = Mon 9am – 5pm & Fri 11am - 8pm             

 - Weekend Assistant Manager

18.5 hours per week - actual salary £10,331 

Timetable:    Week 1 = Fri 8.45am – 2.30pm, Sat 9am – 5pm, Sun 10.45am – 5pm

Week 2 = Fri 2.15pm – 8pm, Sat 12pm – 8pm Sun 10.45am – 5pm
