This post will provide the successful applicant with the opportunity to gain experience of working in a new Regional Adoption Agency, Adopt Thames Valley, working on behalf of seven Local Authorities.
The Service is hosted by Oxfordshire, but has an office based in Woodley, Berkshire. This office provides adoption services across the West Berkshire, Wokingham, Bracknell, Reading and Windsor & Maidenhead areas.
The post holder will have experience of Children and Families work, and preferably Adoption and/or Family Placement work. He/she will need to be currently working as a Senior Practitioner or above.
- To manage the overall work of the team and provide support and supervision to staff.
- To work with the contributing Local Authorities to achieve timely placements for the children requiring adoption and to pro-actively plan the matching and placement process.
- To work with management colleagues across the adoption agency to maximise the recruitment of prospective adopters and ensure good preparation, training and support at all stages of the adoption process.
