We are recruiting for Lead Analysts, to based in Winchester (with potential for other locations). This is an exciting opportunity to progress your career in analysis into a management role within a law enforcement organisation.

You will be directly responsible for monitoring the delivery of analytical services that support the Force with meeting a wide range of complex operational and organisational challenges. You will lead a team of analysts and researchers, developing and managing their products and performance, whilst building strong relationships with management colleagues and senior leaders.

Key tasks will include:

Line manage and motivate team and individual performance, providing direction and leadership, build relationships with customers to identify and assist problem solving, ensuring that analysis is focused on answering the right questions in the right way, quality assure work and identify development needs of staff, take responsibility for specific areas of work, supervise task and support staff to carry out analysis and be a subject matter expert in analytical tools and techniques, use professional expertise and evidence to guide and influence others across the force through formal and informal engagement.

As well as seek out relationships with partners and other organisations, to maximise the sharing of insight and develop the Force’s analytical capability, promote the concept of Evidence Based Policing across the organisations and within the Analysis team, supporting staff to use evidence based policing techniques such as targeting, testing and tracking to support identification and delivery of ‘what works’ and when required, prepare and present the results of Analysis to internal colleagues and outside organisations including partner agencies.

The post holder will be expected to be educated to QCF Level 6 OR have relevant work experience deemed to have brought the post holder to a comparable level.
Supervisory experience showing resourcefulness and interpersonal skills. Experience in prioritising, planning and managing the workload of a team. Experience of planning analytical work (for example by writing terms of reference), and conducting analysis of complex information, which meets the needs of the customer. Experience of innovative and creative approaches to problem solving. Highly effective report writing and presentation skills, with experience in delivering to all levels of an organisation and ability to debate complex issues. Ability to use own initiative and possessing good time management skills. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, with proven experience of forming and maintaining internal and external relationships. Proven experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
