Lawyers always want to be busy and with 1.6 million people to support, that’s something that’s always true at Hampshire County Council.  If you are a qualified solicitor or barrister with relevant experience, it’s the perfect environment in which to develop your expertise in safeguarding children.

Naturally, we’re looking for a deep understanding of the Children Act 1989 and the Adoption and Children Act 2002. But equally, though you’ll have advised on the interpretation of legislation and seen cases through courts before, it’s your commitment to the welfare of children and their families that’s vital here. You’ll be working with Social Workers who’ll expect nothing less than complete dedication.

This is a chance to develop alongside some of the country’s leading specialists (we’re Lexcel and IIP accredited too). You’ll find we’re open to flexible working – so you’ll be able to make the most of the area. In turn, you’ll have all the training, support and opportunities to become one of the most respected names in your field.

Our Organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults. We expect all employees, workers and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment.
