Senior Project Officer HCC2770961

Hampshire County Council
£31,479 - £35,430 per annum
Elizabeth II Court, Winchester
15 months

This is a fantastic opportunity for flexible and motivated individuals who have an interest in leading and supporting sustainable change within a prestigious public sector organisation. At Hampshire County Council, we are proud of our strong record of delivering excellent services that provide value for money. We are rising to the challenge of national spending cuts with an ambitious programme of savings and modernisation, whilst protecting frontline services and reducing the impact on those in most need.

The Culture, Communities and Business Services (CCBS) Department is looking for experienced and enthusiastic individuals to help contribute to key transformational programmes, supporting and delivering projects over the next 15 months. We have particular opportunities for those with strong analytical skills who are able to understand and present data and information clearly, and who has experience of working in a business change environment. Experience in strategic and business planning would be highly beneficial for one of the roles in particular.

You will be a proactive self-starter, with a good work ethic and flexible approach. With strong communication, financial and data analytical skills you will be able to build and maintain good relationships across the organisation and flex your style to suit different situations and challenges. You will have previous experience in a project or business environment as a project or change manager, project support officer, business analyst or similar.

You will be able to demonstrate excellent IT skills, enabling you to produce high quality work across a range of MS Office packages. As a highly organised individual you are able to balance your workload across multiple projects, prioritising in order to consistently meet pressing deadlines. You can work both independently and as part of a team.

The Culture, Communities and Business Services department is one of the largest and most diverse in the County Council. Our work is as varied as our services – we help services shape their strategies, review business processes and develop new operating models; we provide strategic advice and analysis to inform evidence based decision making, enabling our services to pursue initiatives that position them strongly for the future. We work across the many diverse CCBS services, encompassing business, outdoor, cultural and heritage, regulatory, and property services. Further information of the services provided by CCBS can be found here:

You will be based in Winchester, a beautiful and historic city on the edge of the South Downs National Park, with good travel links to London.

For information we are looking for 2 roles through this recruitment and not all skills/experience will be necessary from a single individual.

Please also note that the recruitment process will be closed ahead of the deadline if suitable candidates are found.
