About us

Here in Oxfordshire our vision is to be the best place in England for children and young people to grow up in, by working with every child and young person to develop the skills, confidence and opportunities they need to achieve their full potential and be successful.

We’re very proud to be rated good by Ofsted and have achieved significant successes in achieving better outcomes for children and the majority of children, young people and families in the county are healthy, safe and thriving both at home and school. We must now work to ensure that our services continue to evolve and adapt to meet the changing needs of our children, young people and families. We are engaged in a directorate programme of development which includes embedding restorative practice across our services.

We are currently recruiting for two positions within the service:

Being one of five Area Social Care Managers supported by an ambitious senior management team, you’ll have ample opportunity to lead on key service improvement and partnership work such as (examples only) care leavers, domestic abuse, parental substance misuse etc.

Corporate Parenting Manager

Supported by an ambitious senior management team you will lead on service development and improvement.

Our requirements

With a solid background in managing statutory children’s social work services including child protection, children in need and looked after children services. You’ll have detailed knowledge of childcare legislation, guidance and national standards.

With a proven track record of managing and developing staff and leading and managing change within a complex organisation. A strategic thinker – you will maximise partnership working opportunities with Health, Police, Schools and Education settings.
