Do you want to make a positive difference to the lives of others?

Hampshire County Council has been successful in securing significant capital investment and is seeking to grow its transport team to deliver even better outcomes for the residents and businesses of Hampshire.  We are looking for talented and motivated individuals to help us continue to achieve.  If you want to help shape the future of our communities or simply want to get on and identify what future transport improvements are required, then we may have the right opportunity for you.

The role of the Assistant Transport Planner is to support the development of transport infrastructure schemes, data collection for preparation of evidence bases as well as helping to prepare bids for funding within the wider Strategic Transport Team.  You will be managed by the Principal Transport Planner who provides guidance on work to be undertaken as well as advice and training to enable development into a more challenging role.  You will help to client manage small transport schemes as well as drafting business cases for future interventions in line with current policies and strategies including gathering survey data to support strategy and scheme development.  The role varies widely and provides the opportunity to learn on the job whilst also working in a position supporting the needs of the team.

You will be educated to A level standard or equivalent work experience in an appropriate transport related role.

Our Organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults. We expect all employees, workers and volunteers to share this commitment. We will ensure that all our recruitment and selection practices reflect this commitment.
