£15,669 - £16,074 per annum
Community Response Assistant - Hampshire wide locations; Care Assistant - Alton, Lymington, Bishops Waltham

Hampshire County Council is pleased to announce exciting Apprenticeship opportunities working in Adult Social Care settings.

We have two types of Apprenticeship; Community Response Assistant and Care Assistant roles. In these roles you will make a difference to peoples’ lives whilst building a career in Health and Social Care at Hampshire County Council. If you are interested in this sector and have a caring nature this could be a great prospect for you.

This is an ideal opportunity for a school/college leaver or someone considering a career in the Health and Social Care sector. This Apprenticeship can lead onto a variety of career opportunities in nursing, healthcare, social work, care management, health therapies and more. Hampshire County Council offers high quality training and attractive pay and conditions.

Community Response Assistant:

You will be part of the Local Area Community Response Service delivering short term support to people in their own home, which promotes independence, choice and dignity. Tasks will include supporting people returning to their homes after hospital stays. Our team of experienced staff will help you develop the skills and competencies to work with people in their own homes and provide assistance with a range of daily living tasks.

We will provide you with a staff uniform and a smart phone. There will be a significant amount of travel involved across a wide geographical area, so it is essential you either have access to your own transport or in the process of getting a moped or car. There are County wide opportunities with apprenticeships available in South East, South West and North Hampshire; where practicable work will be kept to a smaller geographical area and mileage will be paid for.

Residential Care Assistant:

We offer a ‘Person Centred Care’ approach when caring for our residents. This allows all residents to enjoy the care that they deserve, and ensures that all aspects of an individual’s time spent in our home are enjoyed in a caring and dignified manner at all times. In these vital Care Assistant roles, you need to have an empathy with the needs of older people and understand the importance of treating our residents with dignity and respect.

We will give you all the support, training and development you need to help you enjoy an extremely satisfying career in social care. The work can be challenging, but the rewards are beyond measure.

Staff are provided with relevant training and uniforms and all of our homes have appropriate equipment. There are County wide opportunities dependent on where you are located.

As part of the Apprenticeship you will undertake and complete the following vocational studies:

  • Level 2 or 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Adults)
  • Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Preparing to Work in Adult Social Care
  • Functional Skills, Level 1 or Level 2 math’s and English
  • Employment Responsibilities and Rights
  • Personal Learning & Thinking Skills

The level you will undertake will be dependent on the initial assessment and previous qualifications you hold. You will be required to attend training on a regular basis, complete assignments as well as work based observations.

We are recruiting all year round into both roles and are holding interview days regularly throughout each month. Please submit an application and we will respond to you within 10 working days.

This post is subject to a criminal records check.
